Courtyard Installation

The BIG NODE consists of polyurethane wire hose with clamps. It locates at the middle of the courtyard, invites visitors to touch, move and sit. The knotted structure connotates the blockages at the system where flow and the speed comes after all. It reminds us the weaknesses and the very nature of this system that digital age embodies.

This message, scale and physical form of the proposed BIG NODE can easily be adapted to the different unique conditions of the courtyards of Montpellier. It highly respects the sense of the space that the historical courtyards of city, places itself in a modest way without exaggerating the scale, in contrary attracting the attention to the surface and the soft-unexpected form.
